Contract: Fixed-term (18 months contract, with a possibility of extension) 

Salary: £28,492 – £33,987 per annum

We are looking for a Programme Officer to join the Human Mobility Initiative (HMI), which works in collaboration with multiple ODI research programmes on the theme of migration and displacement. 


You will provide operational support at every stage, from tendering to completion, on a wide range of projects. You will facilitate the flow and provision of key information on finance, resources, project/programme timelines and deliverables, within the organisation and externally with a variety of stakeholders.


Other key responsibilities include:


  • Support the project leader in the preparation of bids and proposals (with financial and other documentation).
  • Project, financial and contractual monitoring.
  • Programme coordination and administration.
  • Coordinate activities with ODI central support teams such as finance, communications and HR. 


About you:

  • Educated to degree level.

  • High level of numeracy. 

  • Excellent organisational and administrative skills.

  • Strong experience in monitoring budgets.

  • Excellent communication skills and excellent written and spoken English. 

  • Multitasking skills in a high-pressure environment.

  • Ability to work to work under pressure and to strict deadlines.

  • Good proofreading and editing skills.

  • Advanced IT skills including Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint and databases.

  • Ability to learn new software quickly.

  • Interested in international development and humanitarian issues is highly desirable
