Partnership Manager - Sport for Change
Posted 11 days ago
Since 1985 Comic Relief’s mission has always remained clear – to be the disruptor for social justice and change. We’ve successfully raised awareness for the causes that help to support this vision year on year with the support of those who also believe in what we do. In order to continue to have a positive impact on the lives of people who we want to change, we need to transform, and that means starting a new chapter.
We are becoming a creative agency for a social change. An agency that is proud to be bold, confident and even at times edgy. We want to harness creativity to better effect, value our brands, embrace talent, connect globally, engage and empower many more people in our mission.
We need the best talent to ensure that we’re continuously learning, growing and inspiring. This is a new chapter for Comic Relief – come and help create the future.
If you have experience of managing or making large, complex grants, why not join Comic Relief and help bring about real and lasting change by being part of a team tackling the root causes of poverty and social injustice?
Comic Relief is a leading grant maker in Sport for Change. As Partnership Manager you will be working on an exciting new partnership with the Greater London Authority (GLA). You will play a lead role in ensuring the effective delivery and management of a £3 million grants programme ‘London Together’ that uses sport to foster social integration across London. You will also get involved in our wider global Sport for Change work.
Day to day you will be responsible for the grant making and management of London Together. You will oversee risk, partnership management, and budget control. You will be our main point of contact with the GLA, overseeing the relationship and working with them to review effectiveness and incorporate learning to develop strategy. You will facilitate project visits and coordinate communication activities as well as ensure compliance and regular stakeholder reporting. Through international and local travel you will also meet with partners, supporting them to deliver social change as well as champion stories of success and share key learning. This role is part funded by the new partnership with the Greater London Authority, and it is therefore anticipated that your time will be split between delivering London Together and working on Comic Relief’s wider Sport for Change work.
It is important that you have in-depth grant making experience within a social change organisation/social investing sector as well as a good grasp of best practice in this area. You will also have an understanding of how sport can be used to drive positive social change. Comfortable building and nurturing relationships, you must excel at stakeholder management and relish working in a collaborative environment. Financially astute, you will also possess strong project management, communication, presentation and interpersonal skills.
We positively welcome, and seek to ensure we achieve, diversity in our workforce and that all job applicants and employees receive equal and fair treatment, regardless of age, race, gender, religion, sexual orientation, disability, or nationality. We encourage applications from disabled people and we will guarantee a first stage interview to all disabled applicants who sufficiently demonstrate in their application how they meet the essential criteria for the job as outlined on the person specification of the job description.
