Senior Engineer - Front End

We want you to support of the Engineering Practice Lead, embed processes, standards and practice for the development, delivery and operation of all digital products in a secure, scalable and operationally efficient manner.
As Senior Engineer you will help architect individual platforms and products as well as take vertical ownership of the whole software stack including support, monitoring and full operational responsibility. You will also support the Engineering Practice Lead in defining and embedding all coding, architecture and infrastructure provision standards and processes. You remit will include mentoring more junior engineers and creating a culture of operational excellence, quality first development and continuous improvement. We want you to engage in open source and technology communities and raise our profile as a top tier software development organisation too. You will also work on other products and tools, such as our testing stack, continuous integration and delivery pipelines, as well as help craft unique user centred digital experiences in an agile setting.
You must have extensive experience in software development where you will have gained expertise in using Javascript (ReactJS, node, jQuery). You must have strong front-end skills (HTML5, CSS) and an eye for design, UX and accessibility. You will be used to cloud native application development (AWS/PWS/ and been involved in continuous delivery (Concourse CI, Travis CI) as well as automated testing (end-to-end testing frameworks, Behat, Unit tests).
In addition to your technical talents you will also possess strong communication and relationship building skills coupled with the desire to work collaboratively.
