Grants Manager - Queen's Young Leaders

At Comic Relief we’re focused on bringing about real and lasting change by tackling the root causes of poverty and social injustice. Thanks to our amazing partnership the Queens Elizabeth Diamond Jubilee Trust; since 2014 we have been running the Queens Young Leaders Programme.
We are now looking for a brilliant grant making professional to build on our successes to date and manage our exciting and vibrant portfolio of grants across 6 countries. The Grants support organisations working with young people in the UK, Sierra Leone, Zambia, Bangladesh, Jamaica and Solomon Islands. They are focused on employment, advocacy and enterprise development. They also include working with technology and hubs.
We have always sought to innovate and develop creative and participative ways to deliver the programme in the most effective way possible, so there will be space to continue in this tradition when developing future work. Many of these grants are now in their second or third year and we have plans to develop a legacy programme and an exciting long-term tracer study to record and share the impact the programme is having.
It’s is essential we work really well with our partners, so this role will work hand in hand with staff from the Queen Elizabeth Diamond Jubilee Trust – sharing the progress of the grants and giving them opportunities to see the work close up. It is also vital that we communicate the impact of this funding and partnership to key stakeholders and the public, so this role will work very closely with colleagues from our broadcast, media, artists and communications team.
You must have significant experience in international development with an emphasis on understanding the importance of employment, enterprise and advocacy in young people lives. You must have experience in a variety of grant making and social change methodologies and models. Comfortable building and nurturing strategic relationships, you will excel at stakeholder management and be able to demonstrate exceptional analytical and decision making abilities. You will also possess strong communication, presentation and interpersonal skills. Experience working in the UK youth sector and or with technology in social change is a plus
