We are now recruiting a Finance Manager to take responsibility for financial accounting and ensure we continue to remain in strong financial health.
As Finance Manager you will take responsibility for ensuring that all financial systems operate in accordance with organisational. You will lead the team to process income, expenditure and action any adjustments needed for the month end processes to run to timetable. You will prepare VAT returns, oversee Gift Aid claims and provide treasury management as well as give advice on payroll taxes, pensions and other payroll matters. Responsible for the integrity of the balance sheet you will ensure all accounts are reconciled on a regular basis and prepare monthly financial control reports. You will also help prepare our annual statutory accounts.
A fully qualified accountant with experience in a similar role in the charity sector, you will be an effective people manager with knowledge of charity accounting, VAT (including exempt, partial exemptions and reverse VAT), PAYE and other payroll taxes, and Gift Aid. You will be familiar with computerised financial reporting and accountancy packages, preferably Great Plains. Some knowledge of payroll systems, including tax, real time information and reporting requirements would be useful too. With an eye for detail, you are accurate, a good communicator and able to work on your own initiative to meet deadlines
